Lea Michele Asks For Privacy Following Cory Monteith's Death

Lea Michele's team is speaking out on her behalf following the tragic death of her co-star and boyfriend, Cory Monteith.

In a statement to HuffPost Celebrity, Michele's rep says, "We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea's privacy during this devastating time."

Monteith was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver shortly after noon on July 13. He was 31.

Fans and fellow celebrities have shared their condolences over social media, tweeting out messages about Monteith and his incredible talent. Many have also prayed for Michele, 26, who began dating Monteith last year.

Monteith's reps released a statement concerning his death, writing, "We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss."

Our thoughts and prayers are with Lea and Cory's family and friends.

Seriously so sad. I watched some of the show but wasn't ever a really huge fan, but I liked his character and it's always sad to see someone go that young. Like, only 31, damn. I saw an article today that confirmed it was a mixture of heroin and alcohol that killed him. Apparently he's always had drug problems, but was trying to deal with them in rehab.

Still, it's so sad. =( I can't even imagine how his girlfriend feels.

I honestly haven't watched the show since this happened. I feel like I'm going to cry the whole time.

I was never a huge fan of the show, but I have watched it a few times. Finn was an awesome character. I had no idea they were involved outside of the show either until he died. Did they ever say how he died?

I know they said they're gonna continue doing the show without him, but I don't think I'll be able to watch.

He died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol. They say they are going to kill his character off the same way, but without mentioning specifically an overdose.
